The kittens, including this white beauty we named Winter, were presumably 4-6 months old, and once they had been caught and taken back to our rescue, it was apparent they had been handled by humans before, because they were very friendly. Winter was calm and quiet, and she loved snuggling in her bed with her siblings. After a bath and lots of snuggles, she and her brother Jinx found a wonderful home together!

Soba and three other kittens were caught by a man who had been feeding the neighborhood ferals. He called PRP to pick them up because he feared they would be hit by cars (as some of the feral cats and kittens had been) or killed by coyotes. Soba, originally named Rae, was the most timid of the kittens. She huddled at the back of her enclosure, terrified every time I came in to feed and water her. She had no interaction with humans beforehand and didn't know if she could trust them. One day, a kind woman came by to adopt a kitten. She was very interested in Soba, and she understood that this little calico wasn't quite ready for snuggles yet. I explained to her that it would take a lot of patience to help Soba feel completely comfortable around people, but the determined adopter took Soba home. A few days later, she texted us saying that Soba was already starting to come out of her shell! The image above was taken about a year after Soba's adoption. Her owner says she is now the sweetest cat she's ever owned!

He was very laid back and calm, and though his siblings were scared of humans, he never hissed or hid in the corner. He had a sort of charm about him, and it was only a short time before he was comfortable being handled by humans. He was the second of the four kittens rescued to find a home, and he went to a wonderful family with a sweet little boy. His owner later sent a heartwarming picture of them snuggling together on the couch. The picture above was sent about a year after his adoption, and he is doing so well!
Boone, the supposed brother of Kai, was rescued as a neighborhood feral and picked up by PRP. Boone, originally named Marsh, was afraid of humans at first, but he was also just as curious. Boone was the first to venture close to my hand during feeding, and sometimes he would allow himself to be petted - sometimes he even purred! Finally,

Boone was the first to venture close to my hand during feeding, and sometimes he would allow himself to be petted - sometimes he even purred! Finally, I felt he was ready to be held. I carefully picked him up and sat down with him in my lap. At first he was tense and afraid, but as I started petting him he relaxed and the tenseness went away. He purred and purred like a little motorboat, happy to be loved. Boone found a loving family with lots of little kids to snuggle him. This picture was taken in his new home.

After rescuing her from a cruel person who left her locked in a dark closet for hours at a time, Luna Mae's new owner realized she couldn't keep her anymore. Faced with the horrible thought of sending this young dog (only a year old) to the shelter, her owner discovered PRP and surrendered her to us. Luna Mae was nervous at first and extremely uncomfortable in the cage she had arrived in. She had bad experiences in the cage and even snapped at a person who tried to pet her. Once I brought her to her new enclosure and let her out, Luna became an entirely different dog. She was just like a normal puppy, running around and happy. She loved playing fetch, and after a bath and a few training sessions, she learned several commands. I helped her become more comfortable in her cage with treats, making it a positive place to be, but Luna Mae was never put in her cage for longer than minutes, and she ran around in her open enclosure, never to be locked in a closet again. After a wonderful rescue called Julie's Hugs picked her up, they had her spayed and found her a loving, forever family in Pennsylvania! To this day Luna Mae is loved and played with.

Rescued from a ditch on a chilly, autumn night (see Winter's story), Pie and her three littermates were taken into PRP's care. Thankfully, the sweet kitten found her forever family shortly later!

It moved, and she quickly pulled it off the road, opened it, and discovered a litter of kittens that had been tied up and thrown away. Only one had survived, an adorable, gray kitten. She bottle fed him and nursed him back to health, but she couldn't keep him because she was afraid her pet monkeys (yes, she had monkeys) would hurt him. She surrendered the kitten, now named Moe, to PRP, where he was groomed and given a loving, forever family.

The kitten, named Stormy, found her forever family on Pet Rescue Partners' farm! She is a wonderful barncat, a great mouser, and loves snuggles. She went from feral to family, and that is our hope for all abandoned pets.

Dan was three years old and extremely friendly (he just loved belly rubs and would kick his little leg with joy when I gave him one). He had an unique charm about him with his stumpy legs and one floppy ear. Unsurprisingly, this cute little guy found a home within three days of his arrival, and he now lives in an apartment with a loving little boy.
Nala, sister of Mufasa (both named after their lionlike coat color), was rescued as a feral and was brought to PRP where she was cared for and matched with the perfect family! Very attached to her brother, she was sad and lonely when he was adopted. Thankfully, she found the perfect home, and she had a new kitten sister to play with! Her family loves her very much.
Luna was actually PRP's FIRST rescue and rehome! She appeared at our farm, abandoned by her owners, but obviously accustomed to humans. She didn't like getting held, but she constantly rubbed on my legs, purring and asking for scratches behind the ear. She also enjoyed her chin scratched, which was really cute. Luna wasn't getting along with our other cat Stormy, and it became evident that she needed a new home. She was adopted by a lady who lived alone and would devote all her attention to her. Luna now receives even more love!
Patch and his brothers, Cookie and Cream, were brought to us as feral kittens by a kind local who had rescued them from his neighborhood. Patch was a little shy at first, but after a bath and a little love, he quickly became playful and affectionate. Patch was soon adopted into a loving, furever family.
Bella was a beautiful, docile calico kitten that was rescued with her littermates as a neighborhood feral by a local. I named her in memory of a calico cat I used to have as a child. Bella was very calm, laid back, and quiet, and she just wanted to curl up in your lap and receive affection. It didn't take long for this little girl to find her forever home and loving people to care for her.
These seven kittens were surrendered to PRP by a lady who's cat had birthed them. All of the kittens were male except for one (and nearly impossible to tell apart), but it didn't take long for these kittens to find adoring human parents ... and just in time for Christmas, too! What could be sweeter than that?

Mars and Muffin were found in the back of the dye company where my husband works. Their mom had evidently given birth to them and their sister there a few weeks before. My husband, Larry, put out food for the mom and checked on them every day. One day he noticed that the mom had moved the kittens, but left one behind. Mars was the smallest and was left all alone. He brought her inside and put her in a box in his office. After work he brought her home, and we started feeding her with a syringe. A few days later, he went back and found the other two kittens and brought them home as well. We fed them and they quickly began to thrive. A lady who worked at the same company adopted Milo, and we kept Mars and Muffin. Today they are happy, healthy cats who love to play and nap together. They are very friendly, and if you sit down for long enough, you will probably find one of them curled up in your lap!
