My name is Emory Ivie - you probably met me on the homepage. I'm a high school student and have loved animals every one of my sixteen years. I never imagined my passion for pets would lead to finding families for over a hundred animals, but I've loved every moment it took for this dream of mine to become a reality!
I've always had a love for writing, and in fifth grade, I compiled several short articles in the form of a simple newsletter. I printed new issues every month and distributed them to a few classmates and family members who were interested - I called the people involved the "Pet Rescue Partners Club." As I went into sixth grade, I continued to publish newsletters digitally on a less-frequent basis, but I took pride in what I was doing and hoped my information was helpful to others. Pictured is a side-by-side of one of my fifth-grade newsletters with one from sixth-grade (I don't currently write newsletters for Pet Rescue Partners, but I do release short articles twice a month. You can read them on the News tab).
It all started when a stray cat I named Luna started showing up at our house. Because she didn't get along with my other cat, Stormy, I helped find her a loving family. Inspiration sparked, and I started taking in foster kittens and rabbits from a nearby rescue called Whispering Hope. For a few years, my family's farm was home to different pets all destined to find a forever family. I gave them baths, trimmed their nails, cleaned their ears, took their pictures, and did other things to freshen pets up and get them ready for their adoption day. It was always super rewarding to see a pet go home with its new family, and to this day owners send pictures back telling me how wonderful their four-legged companion has been. It was an extremely rewarding process. Unfortunately, Whispering Hope closed down and I no longer could take in pets myself. It was definitely a blow, but I've found a new way to help people in the community by coordinating adoptions online. Pictured is my website's homepage in its early days.
Pet Rescue Partners has been running strong for over six years and has found families for over 100 pets! I've designed and written content for this entire website and continue to coordinate adoptions myself, but I hope to expand PRP's outreach by teaming up with other pet-lovers - would you like to join the cause? My organization is entirely non-profit and I do this alongside school and other activities. I've been featured in several magazines, including Young Rider. Pet Rescue Partners is entirely online-based - if you know anyone in the NC/SC area seeking to rehome or adopt a pet, please refer them to my website!
I also draw custom pet portraits and write children's books in my free time! I'm currently working on a children's fantasy series called Legends of Saphirra - it's on Amazon if you want to check it out!
